Grants Strategist

Bambu Nonprofit Strategies, an established and quickly growing nonprofit fundraising consulting firm is looking to connect with an experienced fundraising professional to join our small team, with a focus on grants development for small and medium sized nonprofits. Knowledge of the South Florida fundraising landscape is an important requirement - Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

About the Position / What you will do

As Bambu continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced fundraising professional to help us deliver effective grant applications and foundation proposals for 3 current nonprofit clients.

The Grants Strategist position will work closely with Lead Strategists to manage all stages of the Grants Development process for several clients - from initial introduction proposals to grant writing through cultivation. Bambu currently manages grants programs for fifteen nonprofits and this position will be responsible to manage three of those clients’ grants programs completely. You will be responsible to manage monthly planning calls for the three clients you will be managing (planning calls are ~1hr). You must be available during the weekdays for these calls.

Bambu is a comprehensive fundraising strategy firm, meaning that we do more than just write grants - we conceive of our engagement with each nonprofit as a partnership and we are on board to help EDs and Development Staff initiate and sustain relationships with key funding partners, and write impactful grant proposals to support their important programs. All clients are fully vetted and all key documents will be in place. Each Bambu client has a unique history and growth plan and we try to meet each organization where they are and customize the most effective plans. Likewise, each funding opportunity varies in rigor and time required to develop. In general, you will be writing 3-6 applications/proposals per client per month.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least 5 years of direct experience in managing grants programs for small to medium sized nonprofits.
• Has experience writing: private foundation, corporate, and government grants as well as grant reports and sharp introduction emails
• Understands the mechanics and language of grants
• Can see the big-picture without missing the details
• Has specific knowledge of South Florida funding landscape
• Thrives managing several projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment

This is fully a work from home position. While we can not currently offer a formal benefits package, we consider the following to be pretty beneficial:

• Pay rate is a flat monthly payment of $3,500, with room to grow for the right candidate

Special Considerations:

• Bambu will pay Grants Strategist on the 1st of each month, or any agreed upon arrangement
• General agreement is that Grants Strategist will remain onboard for at least 90-days but
• Either party can terminate agreement at any time (and Grants Strategist will be compensated for time/ work performed)
• Bambu is a small shop, but we manage a heavy workload. We are here to support you through the onboarding process but we do expect our newest teammate to be self-starting and able to take initiative/problem solve.
